Hi,

 

We have below requirements. Please anyone can validate that below requirements can be served by Adobe liveCycle Output ES3 module

 

1. ALC trigger point – Watch folder and web Service
2. Mode – Batch ,On Demand (Online)
3. Input data – xml
4. Channels – Print, Achieve, Email  and Fax
5. Output format – PDF ,Excel and Doc
6. Printer Configuration – Workflow printer ,Non workflow printer
7. Printing – Local ,Remote ,Bulk printing (local or remote) ,Batch (Scheduled printing)
8. Return the generated output stream to calling system

 

Or suggest which module have to choose for the same.

Hi,

 

My requirement is:

1. To maintain versioning of template.

2. To run all previous versions of templates in production at same time.

 

For example: If a template (account statement) has 12 versions, I want all 12 versions must be running in production. And I must be able to choose which version of template I want to generate the statement of.

 

Please help to advice on same and guide to a relevant documentation.

Hi all,

 

I have a number of forms that I need to merge with data and assemble into one XFA-based PDF.

 

Currently I use the following ddx:

This works, but obviously gives me a NON-XFA Form - I have tried taking out the <NoForms> tag but this gives me an error saying that the "baseDocument cannot be assembled because it is an XFA-based form".

 

What do I need to change (the xdp?, the ddx or something else?) to get out an XFA-based form from Assembler.

Hello,

 

My requirements are to generate pdfs based on inputs from watch folders, web services in xml format. I will have 100 odd templates for which pdfs are to be generated. Is Adobe LiveCycle Output ES3 right choice for it or I should look at some other module?

 

Also an interactive correspondence management solution is also required. Suggest what product I should choose.

Hi,

I am not sure if assembler can create a XFA + Flatten pdf to a XFA form.

I want to assemble a pdf1 (xfa)  with pdf2 (flatten) to produce a pdf3.

 

Pdf3 should not be completely xfa or flatten, so that i can submit pdf3 on hit of button and extract out xml out of it.

 

PDF1 is an application form

PDF2 is just instruction page, so i want to keep it as flatten to reduce size of this pdf.

 

PD3 should be XFA cum flatten, so when it is rendered to user and user clicks on submit button. It will submit the entire pdf.

 

Please let me know how do i do using assembler.

How do I set up a .pdf form to save filled data without having to print the form?  I have provided my clients a lifecycle .pdf form they can use to record data for unique client meetings.  They want the ability to save their completed data whenever they use the form under a unique file name.  I've told them the only way I know how to do this is to print the completed form as a .pdf document and then save it. 

 

Is their a way to save the data to a unique file name without printing the filled form?

 

Is there a way to reset the form with blank fields after saving? or to add a clear fields button?

Heya!

 

I'm using LiveCycle ES3 OutputModule calling the GenerateOutput2 method via SOAP to merge an XDP with XML data to an PDF/A document.

 

Unfortunately I get the output:

"(com.adobe.document.xmlform.ReturnStatus@33c0ab2b) XMLForm, render : 20511, Requested font 'Liberation Sans' was not found and font substitution is not allowed for PDF/A."

 

The "missing" font is located at/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-liberation/.

 

I have a headless Linux server, so I configure everything using

/.../adobe_livecycle_es3/configurationManager/bin/ConfigurationManager .sh

 

 

In my cli_property.txt file, I've set the following settings:

AdobeFontsDir=/opt/adobe/adobe_livecycle_es3/fonts/

customerFontsDir=

systemFontsDir=/usr/share/fonts/

 

The properties were deployed via

./ConfigurationManagerCLI.sh configureLiveCycle -f cli_propertyFile.txt

 

I'm stuck here and looking forward to any help.

Hi Adobe,

 

In our Product, we are using Live Cycle ES and ES3 for protecting PDF documents..

 

With Adobe Reader XI, if we try opeing documents with Mozilla and Chrome, we are getting the below error message...

 

But the same document opens in IE browser..

 

Can u please advise us in fixing the issue as most of the users are annoyed with this error...

 

Please advise us in getting a resolution

Hi Folks,

 

I've got a form which uses fragments.This form previews fine in the designer, but when I try to run it using generatePDF Output in a process, the parts that come from the fragments are gone.

 

The following entries are in the log:

Hi Adobe..

 

We are using Live cycle ES and ES2 for applying security on the document..

 

With latest Mozilla and Chrome versions and with Adobe reader XI, if we try opening a document, we happens to see the below error message..

 

 

Please advise us in getting this issue resolved...

I created this form using LC Designer 8. The bottom detail part of the page prints but the top Section doesn't print.  It has printed fine until today.

Ok, I know this has been covered here before but I am a complete noob to this program. I have created a form (URL is listed at the bottom) for our advertising team to fill out when they are putting in a new order. For convenience, I'd like for the submitted PDF file to automatically be renamed to something unique.

 

Like perhaps 'CustomerName_CurrentDate.pdf'

 

Customer name one of the fields on the list, as well as current date.
Now some of the previous answers to this question involve coding, but as I said I'm a noob. I can plug code in, but I don't even know where to plug it in at.

Hi,

I have installed LiveCycle ES PDF Generator using the turnkey option and express configuration. When I login to the administrator console and look at the list of Services, I do not find the service ConvertAllFileTypesToPDF. This is the service that converts various document types to the PDF.

Pls suggest.

I am very new to development using ADOBE products.
I have a small requirement, to generate PDF from DOC/DOCX on microsoft and non-microsoft platform using Java language (No MS Office is installed on that machine). So I came to know about Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator ES.

Hi,

I,

1. render a xdp in browser (via servlet)
2. fill out the form, attach some files
3. submit the form as PDF (via servlet)
4. launch a process that flattens the PDF file

the flattened PDF doesn't include attachments no more, it was lost durning the Output/transform Qpac. (if I don't apply the flattening, I am able to see the attachments)

How do I keep attachments in flattened pdf?

We have a fax process running in output central that we'd like to replace with LiveCycle.  The way the process currently works is we receive a parameter file (we can convert to XML) that is read in by central which creates the fax based on the data in the parameter file (the parameter file has all the data to fill in the fax template).  Central then puts the ready to fax file in a directory that our vsi-fax server picks up and faxes.

 

My question is - what tools do I need to develop a new template, and once I have the template - how do I setup LiveCycle so it grabs the XML file from a directory - transforms the XML to PDF using a template - then place the PDF in the directory that vsi-fax will pick it up and send it.

 

This is an old process we are currenly using - it just works and no one knows how it was originally setup.  We'd like to upgrade to LiveCycle and perhaps in the future also be able to e-mail the PDFs that we're currenly faxing.

 

If you could let me know which tools and products I'd need, and where a good place is to learn about how to set this up - I'd apprecite it.

Hi,

 

Is there a way to export all properties like field names, conditions, coordinates, Field Type, Width, Height etc, into an XML or Excel sheet. We have around 2000 Forms and it would be a pain to manually go through all of them and document these properties.Is there any way around automating this?

 

Please let me know if you have any clue how to go about it.

Hi All,

 

I'm trying to put together a proof of concept using livecycle OS but having problems around printing.

 

When I use a static form (forced on me I believe as I'm trying to use another PDF as a background) I need to be able to print duplex and select a tray.  From reading the documentation, it implies I should be able to do this by setting the properties on the form? However this has no effect.

 

Is this possible?

Has anyone ever seen this Output error before? I'm not sure where to start debugging:

 

SoapFault exception: [soapenv:Server.generalException] com.adobe.livecycle.assembler.client.ProcessingException: ALC-ASM-S00-002: Failed to execute the DDX - error messages provided. Caused by: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -2;

 

Here is the DDX:
