Hi Folks,

I've got a form which uses fragments. This form previews fine in the designer, but when I try to run it using generatePDF Output in a process, the parts that come from the fragments are gone.

The following entries are in the log:

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Javascript does not work

I have a huge problem, because Javascript does not seem to work at all.

In LiveCycle-Designer, it works fine, but using the Output Server (JBoss on Redhat), it doesn't work. I always get this message (or similar):

2013-06-10 14:26:52,793 WARN  [com.adobe.document.XMLFormService] (RequestProcessor-1) ALC-XTG-032-108: [21402] Script failed (language is javascript; context is xfa[0].form[0].appform[0].Antragsformular[0].TF_Top_wg_Randüberfluss[0].TF_Master[0].TF_a uftrag[0].texts\.leadapplication_pdf_text[0])

Placement of vertical watermark

I have a simple question that has to do with placements of watermarks.

In my DDX I add a Watermark to my result node like this:

<DDX><PDF result="OutputPDF" return="true">                    <Watermark  verticalAnchor="Bottom" rotation="90">                              <StyledText font-family="'Calibri'" font-size="12pt" color="green">                                        <p>Watermark Text...here comes a much longer text than usual</p>                              </StyledText>                    </Watermark>  <PDF source="Section1">                    </PDF></PDF></DDX>

Looks great, but when the "Watermark text" get longer it grows out of the bottom of the page. It seems as if the Watermark text is "centered" and grows "both ways" so to say. How can I avoid this, I want to Watermark text to grow only upwards,

Said in another way, I need the Watermark text to have a fixed/absolute point of beginning. See picture below for further explanation of my issue...

LC_UserForum_Watermark_small.jpg

I hope some of you out there have had the same issue as me and perhaps have an idea at how to solve it - or that you can tell me whether it is a bug or not.

The LiveCycle server is a JBoss turn-key installation on my Windows machine.  The code is basically copied form the API quick start, with a change of the file names only, and is attched below.

Your help on this problem is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Automated printing of PDF files from a server

I need a way to print PDF files from a server directory with no human intervention.  I'll know what printer I want to print on from the server and the name of the PDF file.  I just want the process to spool the PDF file by running some process or workflow or something.  I can even invoke a service from a SOA BPEL if that is available.  What is the best solution for this?  I'm going to have a process request a service to put a PDF file in a specific directory on the server and I need a way to spool that PDF to a specific network printer without a human being involved.  What is the best way to do this?

Uploading PDF to URL

Hi,
I'm very new to LiveCycle and don't know much coding, so please bear with me. I know that there's an option to upload a filled-out PDF form to a URL through a Submit button, but I'm not sure what other steps I need to take to upload the form. What do I need to do on my website to actually get the PDF to upload here?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

PDF Generator, WatchFolder problem

I've successfully installed PDF Generator on a server.
I've tried to convert native files to the PDF using adminUI console
and it works! Also it works with really cool AIR application to
convert files to the PDF with just simple drag&drop.
But the WatchFolder endpoint is not working (see the exception below which I've c&p from the failure directory)
for the WF settings I was using ConvertAllFileTypesToPDF: 1.0 service,
and configured the settings for the input and output variable as followed:
inputDocument: *.*
output PDF document: %F.%E.pdf

but as I've said at the beginning it is not working, here's the exception:

Flattening a PDF using Assembler's Invoke DDX

$

I have an XDP that needs to be converted to a flat PDF without using output(The solution can only use forms services).

Since its being called from within the process orchestration by using the invoke DDX service, I'm totally lost as to how its done.

1. How do we select the input from within the properties tab without using the literal value ?

2. How do we set the required "<NoForms/> and "<NoXFA/>" parameters from within the workbench without using a literal value for the input parameter in properties ?

3. Would the invoke DDX service allow output to a OutputResult variable ?

Thanks,

How to submit data from livecycle form to sharepoint list

$

Our company uses both Adobe Acrobat 9 pro with livecycle and sharepoint.  My ultimate goal is to be able to use livecycle forms to submit data to a sharepoint list.  However, I can't seem to find any information on how to do this.  I can not beleive we are the only ones to want to use forms in this way.

If anyone can give me information on how to accomplish this I would be very appreciative!

When setting the date/time field type to "calculated - read only" and runtime property to "current date/time" the generated display is always in  the following format:  YYYY-MM-DD H:MM:SS.    I can not change the display property as I can when the property is set to "user entered - optional"  I would like only the date to be rendered, but can not accomplish that.  PLEASE help.   Alan Stein

How to render Rich Text /Html content in PDF through .XDP form

Hi all

I have designed an Invoice.XDP form and connected to a XML/XSD file for data.

Now I dragged data fields from DataView to Invoice.XDP form to create required Text Fields.

When I generated PDF from LiveCycle OutPut ES service it renders all fields with data.

In the Invoice.XDP form some of the fields are required display Richtext /Html content, for those fields I changed object property to "Rich Text" from "Plain Text Only". Even after doing this the formatted text (Richtext /Html) is not displayed and it just displays only raw HTML text tags.

I have attached the sample "Invoice_RTF.pdf" generated for reference here.

Please advise me how to render the Richtext /Html content.

Thanks in Advance

Connection to Failed Service or Not Serializable Errors

Hi. I'm getting connection to failed service errors or not serializable errors when I run a production sized load for my project.  I'm trying to generate 100,000 PDFs one at a time on each thread against the Output web service.  I'm running custom code that makes the Output web service call on individual thread.  I run up to 40 threads against my vertical cluster and occasionally I see a not serializable error or connection to failed service on my code.  Any ideas on what could be the cause of the errors?  Thank you for any insight you can provide.

I'm running a WebLogic vertical cluster on one box.  1 admin server of WebLogic 9.2 MP3 with 10 managed WebLogic servers on the same physical box in a cluster.  I have enough RAM to support all these JVMs and the GDS is on the local drive on the box.

Software: Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (32-bit), WebLogic 9.2 MP3, Adobe LC 8.2.1 SP3 + QF 3.19, Oracle 10.2.0.4, BEA Jrockit 1.5.0_12 (32-bit)

Hardware: 2 CPU 2.8GHz * 4 cores * Hyper-Threading = makes it look like 16 CPUs in Task Manager, Performance tab, 16 GB RAM, 50+ GB HD space free

Error Message:

+ com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCNotSerializableException: Not Serializable

IVS Error Message that happens randomly when the errors are occurring.  I can resubmit the same IVS test where this error shows up on the managed WL instance and it :

Not Printing on Shared Printer

Hi,

I am trying to print a PDF form on to a shared network printer.

I  have converted this form using generatePrintedOutput to PCL format   before sending it to sendToPrinter. The process executes successfully  without any errors but nothing is getiing printed on the printer what  could be the reason for this?

I also used Verification  Sample (Output-IVS) application to verify whether the printing functions  correctly or not. I get following lines in log

Print  spec:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<printSpec>

Merging XML and XDP files

Hello!

I must build this POC for a client and the idea is merge XML and XPD files to feed a LiveCycle Output process and create PDF files.

I've built the XDP files and the XML to start things, now I need to figure out how to create the process to merge them in Workbench.

Is there any tutorial to help me with this task?

Thank you for any ideas!

ES3 Output getting java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory

Hello,

We just upgraded to ES3, and for load testing, I submitted 1000 xml files to a watch folder.  The process that picks up the files merges the data with a template and dispatches the documents to a printer.  We had this same memory issue in the past on an older version of LiveCycle, but we increased the swap space according to http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2010/05/livecycle_formsivs_and_outputi.html and the problem went away.

Here's what our current swap space is:

Swap:  4200912k total,  2478116k used,  1722796k free,   932596k cached

Is there a good way to resolve this error?  Or are we supposed to bump up the swap even higher now?

Thanks,

Ryan

Problem to integrate Adobe LiveCycle Web Service to BizFlow

$

I have problem in integrating BizFlow with Adobe LiveCycle Web Service. We use LiveCycle Output Service module, it has Web Service, EJB, Remoting and REST for external application to call. Then I try to create a Web Service Application in BizFlow to call that LiveCycle Web Service.

The LiveCycle project is input an XML parameter from Web Service then fill in the LiveCycle form to generate PDF then send it to an email address.

The problem is BizFlow can only accommodate with RPC Web Service and does not work with other web service, and in default LiveCycle only present Document style Web service to external. We have problem in integration.

Anyone could give some information on how to integrate BizFlow and LiveCycle service? Like can LiveCycle present RPC protocol Web Service?

The help is highly appreciated

Daniel

Does anyone have a feature comparison chart of LC Output vs LC Production Print they can share with me?  If any competitive products are included in the comparison that would be nice.
